Fields Fired After Hearing

A Savannah-Chatham police officer arrested last week for stalking a woman has been fired. Forty-eight-year-old Cpl. Charlie Fields was arrested on December 30, charged with stalking and unlawful eavesdropping and surveillance.

The 20-year police veteran was already suspended. He was fired yesterday during a termination hearing.

Fields worked in downtown Savannah, primarily helping the city's homeless.
