Renovations to a portion of Forsyth Park will mean some of the park will be off limits for a while. Today construction crews began installing fencing near the park's spray pool, the parking lot to the east at Drayton and Hall Streets, as well as the small playground to the west.
Those areas will be closed while construction workers relocate a large storm drainage pipeline as part of a renovation project on the old simulated fort structures in the middle of the park.
"I don't mind they're closing this side, the other side will be open," said park visitor Danielle Netzinger. "They're going to build restrooms so its worth it. The kids will be a little sad for a while but that's okay."
The construction project will likely take just about a month to complete.
