Should we allow a pipeline to be built off the coast of Georgia and South Carolina?
That topic is being hotly debated currently, as well it should be. On the pro side is the possibility of creating something which facilitates economic expansion and lessens America's dependence on foreign oil.
On the negative side: the potential for environmental disruption, if not environmental disaster, looms large. It's a crossroads where we have to balance such things as the price of transportation and industrialization against the interest of fishing and tourism and the potential environmental impact that we've seen have disastrous effects.
The fact that the question has gotten the public's widespread attention is an encouraging sign.
