UniverSoul Circus in Town

Performers from the UniverSoul Circus were all over town today, visiting all 30 of Chatham County's elementary schools. They are not only promoting the circus, they wanted to talk to the children about doing well on the Criterion-Referenced Competency Test, or CRCT.

We caught up with one group of performers at Charles Ellis Elementary School where the students were treated to a sample of their acrobatic and musical skills.

"Education is so important and the kids you want them to know," said violinist Latonya Peoples. "You want them to have options when they get older. If they don't have a good education and a good background, they are not going to have many options when they get older."

One student was the winner of five tickets to the circus, which will be in town February 3 through the 6th on the campus of Savannah State University.
