  • VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - Beaufort National Cemetery Memorial Flag Placement, Wednesday, May 20 from 8-10 a.m. and 6-8 p.m.
  • Fort McAllister State Park Memorial Day Commemoration - Sunday, May 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Armed Forces Festival - Rousakis Riverfront Plaza - Monday, May 25 All Day
  • City of Richmond Hill Memorial Day Observance - J.F. Gregory Park, Monday, May 25 at 11 a.m.
  • Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glenville - Monday, May 25 at 11:30 a.m.
  • Memorial Day Ceremony at Beaufort National Cemetery - Monday, May 25, 12 p.m.
  • Tybee Marine Rescue Squad's annual Barbecue Boston butt sale will be Friday and Saturday during Memorial Day Weekend. Butts will be available after 10 a.m. Friday and all day Saturday. The cost is $25.00 whole or chipped. Customers can pick up the barbecue at the MRS Shack next to Capt. Mik's Dolphin Tours on Tybee Island.
  • Memorial Day Ceremony hosted by Post 36 and Post 184 - Monday, May 25 at 10 a.m. in the American Legion Section of Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah. A reception with lunch will be served afterwards at American Legion Post 184, Rowland Ave at Legion Drive.
  • Savannah Mile Run, Saturday, May 23, at 8 a.m. at Forsyth Park. The run will be in several heats, which will include a family division and ends with the Heroes Heat. More info:
  • Beaufort's annual Memorial Day Parade will be held on May 25 starting at 10 a.m. followed by the traditional ceremony at Beaufort National Cemetery at noon.

Also, Triple-A wants to make sure you have a safe way home no matter what you are doing this Memorial Day weekend. Whether you are an AAA member or not, you can call for a free tow and ride home within in 10 miles of the location you get picked up from. This will start Friday and last until 6 a.m., Tuesday.
