Sand Gnats win 2-1 over Augusta

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The story out of Grayson on Wednesday is that the Gnats are leaving.

There is a scheduled announcement in Columbia tomorrow, and our sources within the organization say that they'll make it official on Thursday that the Gnats are headed to South Carolina.

On the field in Grayson on Wednesday night the Sand Gnats played host to The Augusta Green Jackets.

In the seconnd inning with runners on first and third, a throw down to second got away from Gnat shortstop Luis Guillorme, who goes after it very nonchalantly, then gets the runner with the flip between the legs to get Christian Paulino at second base.

In the bottom of the third with a runner on third, Jonathan Johnson lifts a fly ball to center, and it's enough to get Jon Leroux home for the 1-0 Sand Gnat lead.

Savannah goes on to win 2-0. They now head to Rome for a four day road trip.
