STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern senior outfielder Aaron Mizell was the second Georgia Southern Eagle selected in the MLB Amateur Draft and was taken in the 32nd round by the Houston Astros.
Mizell joined Jason Richman, who was taken in the 18th round by the Texas Rangers. Georgia Southern has had multiple players taken in the draft in six of the last seven seasons.
The McRae, Ga. native led the Eagles with 12 home runs in 2015 and posted a .292 batting average with a .539 slugging percentage, 12 doubles, 46 runs and 40 RBI.
In his two-year career, Mizell tallied 25 home runs, 93 RBI and posted a .301 batting average.
