The athletic department at Hilton Head High has a great thing going. For the fifth straight time, the Seahawks win the Director's Cup. The award goes to the best overall program in the state. 18 of their 22 programs made it to postseason play this year. Others in our area include Beaufort at 9 in 3-A, and Battery Creek is 10 in 2-A.
As for Georgia school's of interest, Wayne County finishes 13th in Quad A. Director's Cup in the Peach State is given out by the Georgia Athletic Directors Association. (10)
Savannah Arts Academy is a top 15 program. The high finish is especially impressive considering that the Panthers do not field teams in football, baseball and basketball. Pierce County finished 9th in Triple A.
In Double A, Vidalia is number 5 in the Director's Cup Standings. The highest in our area as it's a combination of boys and girls. Separately, BC is number 4 while Saint Vincent's in number 6. (33)
In Single A, Savannah Christian is the top area program at number 11. Claxton comes in at number 14 while Calvary is 18.
