Cafeteria workers in Long County will see their paychecks increase. Earlier this month, we reported just how mad they were. They walked off the lunch line and straight to the board of education to demand more money.
Some said they hadn't had a pay raise in more than two years.
Meanwhile students, parent volunteers and teachers had to pitch in to help serve lunch to hundreds of hungry students.
At a meeting last night, the board of education and the workers came to an agreement. All the workers will get raises--not quite what they asked for, but they say it's a start.
