Phase two of the Victory Drive Corridor Study is now underway.

The purpose is to prepare a plan to preserve and enhance the historic landscape of the nearly 20-mile long corridor, while also modernizing certain areas. This is the second phase of the study, and second meeting this week for public input.

Phase two focuses on the area between Ogeechee Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

"As some of the residents described to us Monday night, this is their main street. And Victory Drive really knits together three neighborhoods right along the section of the corridor. So it's a very important corridor to the community, and so their input is of critical importance, and we understand that this is part of their neighborhood and something that they live with every day,” said Denise Grabowski, project manager.

Thursday’s open house meeting at the Beach High School cafeteria lasts until 7 p.m.

There will also be a progress presentation at the Chatham County-Savannah MPC Hearing Room, located at 112 E. State St. Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., to share initial design ideas or input on recommendations.
