Judge to determine whether charges will be dismissed in Ajibade case

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Motions made by attorneys for former Chatham County Jail employees, charged in the death of Mathew Ajibade, are still up for consideration following a pre-trial hearing on Monday.

Judge James Bass Junior will review the 165-page transcript from the grand jury hearing, to determine whether or not charges should be dismissed, based on the evidence and information presented to jurors during testimony.

No time limit was given for the judge to make a decision.

Maxine Evans, Gregory Brown, and Jason Kenny are facing charges in the death of 21-year-old detainee Ajibade at the beginning of the year, though Kenny is the only one charged with tasing Ajibade while he was in custody.
