Police Seek Credit Card Thief

From surveillance video.
From surveillance video.

Keep your eyes on your wallets and purses. There's a thief who has his eyes on them. Police are looking for a man who's been helping himself to other people's credit cards.

The suspect has a pretty simple MO. He just goes around looking for purses and wallets that don't belong to him, and rifles through and steals whatever credit cards he finds.

Investigators say the man pictured in this image from surveillance video has been going into office buildings, trying to blend in with the employees while he looks for wallets and purses lying around. Once he gets his hands on someone's card, police say he goes on shopping sprees, buying things like golf outings, gin, Hennessy, and Newport cigarettes.

They think he may be driving a gold Dodge or Chrysler.

If you have any information, please call Richmond Hill police at 756.2626 or CrimeStoppers at 234.2020.

And of course, keep a close eye on your belongings, even if you think they're in the relatively safe surroundings at work. You can't be too careful.
