Savannah radio stations are presenting the third annual Children's Hospital Radiothon to benefit The Children's Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center on Thursday and Friday.

The radiothon will features stories from local families, like Hunter Stanfield, who was diagnosed with cancer three days before his 13th birthday. His mom says it's been a tough battle, but now he's cancer free. All thanks to the hard work of the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Chidren's Hospital.

"When you're here for cancer treatments at Memorial it becomes like a family, they treat you as if you're one of their own, they love your child like it's theirs, they make you feel so comfortable,  and they're compassionate and caring about everything to,” said Amanda Stanfield, mother.

The Radiothon will air from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both Thursday and Friday. If you would like to help, please donate by calling 912.350.4266 or online by clicking here

"It's the region’s only Children’s Hospital, as you can imagine there's a lot of equipment that is specialized to treat children. We like to say here, kids aren't miniature adults, and so we have to buy that equipment and that equipment doesn't come cheap so the money that is raised here today support us in being able to provide the latest and greatest in the technology and equipment to care for these children,” said Senior Vice President Bill Lee, Memorial.

Last year, this event raised $60,000.
