SCMPD investigates shooting at 37th and East Broad streets

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are investigating a vehicular accident and shooting at East 37th and East Broad streets on Monday.

Officers responded to a shots fired call, but then upgraded the situation to a shooting when Rashamel Famble, 17, showed up at the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He is expected to recover.

Investigators confirmed that Famble was shot just before 7:14 p.m. while riding in a white Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by Da’Monte Green. SCMPD found the unoccupied Pontiac parked on the corner of East Broad and 37th streets.

Detectives believe the shooting occurred after the Pontiac collided with a silver Hyundai Sonata. After the accident, at least one occupant exited the vehicle with a gun and fired shots at the Pontiac, striking Famble.

Investigators are now looking for a silver Sonata with rear-end damage. The suspect is described as a tall, black man wearing a “Duck Dynasty” hat. He was last seen driving away from the scene in an unknown direction with a heavy set, light complexioned black female in the front passenger seat.
