Peace Officers Association of Georgia holding annual convention in Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Hundreds of Georgia officers, sheriff’s deputies and others are gathering in Savannah this week.

The Peace Officers Association of Georgia is hosting its annual convention in Savannah.

It includes training classes that help them renew state certifications and get the latest on law changes, ways to catch criminals, and ways to work with the public.

"So they're able to come here and earn all the credit hours they need in two and a half days to maintain their certification as a law enforcement officer,” said Debbie Shaw, POAG.

The POAG has more than 7,000 members across the state of Georgia.
