CEMA wants the public to be ready and aware for Tropical Storm Erika

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Chatham Emergency Management Agency officials are working hard to keep you informed about Tropical Storm Erika.

They are taking necessary steps to make sure the community is ready and aware the tropical storm may impact our area.

It’s always important to make sure you have a plan for your family and pets, along with medicine, food, water and reliable transportation.

"Make sure their plans are in place, make sure that all their contact information is up to date. Just go ahead and put those preparedness efforts into effect and just make sure they're ready to go if the storm does come here and we have to issue evacuation orders,” said Dennis Jones, interim director of CEMA.
