Lady Renee Industries trying to overcome second devastating fire

Family members who own Lady Renee Industries said they can't believe they have to overcome such a devastating fire for a second time.

The fire started after midnight and a driver saw the flames around 1 a.m. Friday.

Crews called for all the help they could get because of chemicals stored here, chemicals used in hair and beauty products. The scene brought back tough memories for those who've built the company back from another fire.

“It happened eight years ago on a cold January morning when we got that call. It was 14,000 square feet of an equipment show room,” said Eddy Toole, family member.

This fire was even bigger, about 20,000 square feet in a combination of buildings.

It included a machine shop, a wood shop, and a furniture shop where they built chairs, cabinets as well as church pews and steeples. Nearly 100 fire fighters showed up to help, mainly to keep the flames from the chemical buildings. By daylight, they had questions about what happened and why.

“Based on what we've learned while we're here, I'm calling in the Fire Marshals to investigate,” said Chief Wayne Brantley, Cedar Crossing Fire Department.

Meanwhile, owners already searched for a plan to stay in business.

“We're resilient. We'll bounce back. We may be smaller but we'll bounce back,” said Toole.

He said if they've done it once, they can do it again.
