Police investigating home invasion in Richmond Hill

RICHMOND HILL, GA (WTOC) -

Richmond Hill police are continuing to investigate a home invasion that happened Sunday morning.

A homeowner on Wiley Way told police two people forced their way into the home with a gun.

Police showed up and diffused the situation, then they learned the armed intruder’s came into the home looking for the homeowner’s son. They claimed he stole money and prescription pills.

Police said given what they’ve learned, it’s clear this was not a random crime.

"It was not random in any way. It was a very specific target that the suspects had. But it is a good general reminder, a good wake up call, to make sure you keep your doors and windows locked, make sure you check who is at your door if someone comes knocking during the day. You want to have a nice peep hole, look out a window, check and see who's there,” said Lt. Jason Sakelarios, Richmond Hill PD.

Police arrested the two intruders. No one else is facing charges at this time.
