Shaundra McKeithen formally announced her run for 5th District Alderwoman Thursday.
McKeithen will face incumbent Estella Shabazz in the November election, even challenging her Thursday to a public debate about issues that plague the 5th District.
McKeithen is promising to make changes and work tirelessly under the campaign slogan “Change Begins with Us.”
"I'm committed to changing the level of participation that we've received in the 5th district. Public service to me is an honor and I respect that people put their trust in us to do what is right,” said McKeithen.
Friday marks the last day to qualify before the election, Nov. 3rd.
