Both Georgia and South Carolina Departments of Transportation are suspending construction-related lane closures on Interstate highways and heavily traveled state routes to help ease Labor Day traffic congestion.
"Road travel has been good. Travel hasn't been heavy yet. It's Friday. Gas Prices are in the low $2 range which we like and we drive a Prius, so we don't use as much gas as we used to,” said Roy and Gladys Richlen, traveling from Virginia.
The U.S. Travel Association expects some 35.5 million Americans to take to the roads and to the air this Labor Day weekend.
