Chatham County's boat ramps are due for more than just a spring cleaning. The boat ramps at Skidaway Narrows off the Diamond Causeway have been in poor shape for the last few years. Last summer, the county fixed one of the ramps. This spring, they plan to fix another which has a large drop off and needs work.
"It's a situation that needs to be fixed," said Robert Drewry of Chatham Public Works. "There is a problem and the resources are available from the recreational authority to do that."
Drewry says engineering work could take place next month. The project will cost about $200,000, with more ramps to follow.
