STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern director of athletics Tom Kleinlein announced Thursday evening the addition of Indiana University to the football program's future schedule. The Eagles will play in Bloomington, Indiana, on Sept. 23, 2017.
Indiana is the latest Power 5 school added to the Eagles' schedule. Last year, GS played NC State and Georgia Tech of the ACC and played the Big 12's West Virginia last week. Georgia Southern will take on Georgia out of the SEC later this season. The Eagles will play Ole Miss and Georgia Tech in 2016, Auburn and Indiana in 2017, Clemson in 2018 and LSU in 2019. Additionally, UMass, Kent State, Savannah State and Western Michigan are on the future slates.
Georgia Southern hosts Western Michigan on Saturday in Paulson Stadium at 6 p.m. The Broncos will be the first non-conference BCS school to play in Paulson Stadium.
