Frances Bright Johnson, Savannah Civil Rights force, has passed away

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Frances Bright Johnson, a force in the Savannah Civil Rights movement, has passed away.

She was a Savannah native, and a graduate of Richard Arnold High School. After that, she mentored local, state and national leaders.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by two sons and three daughters, along with siblings, 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m. Friday at First Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.
