Constitution Day lecture held at Armstrong State University

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Armstrong State University held a Constitution Day celebration Wednesday.

The lecture, led by U.S. Attorney Edward Tarver, informed people about the importance of the Constitution in today’s society.

"We all should speak up. If there's a concern we have, we should voice our opinions. We should raise those concerns. But if there is a problem, we should participate in the process. We should assist law enforcement. Help in any way that we can to make sure that everyone receives their rights guaranteed by the constitution,” said Tarver.

Tarver was appointed in 2009 by President Barack Obama.

In addition to serving as U.S. Attorney, Tarver previously served in the Army and the Georgia State Senate.

The event was free and open to the public.
