SAVANNAH, Ga. - Armstrong State University volleyball swept past Brewton Parker, 3-0, on "Pack the Stands" night at Alumni Arena on Wednesday evening in Savannah. Set scores were: 25-12, 25-8, 25-11.
The Pirates moved from the ARC, their normal home court, to Alumni Arena to try and set a new attendance record for Armstrong State volleyball. The 538 fans that packed the stands saw Armstrong State (3-4) hit .359 in the match while holding the Barons (1-7) to a .000 hitting percentage. The 538 total attendance now stands as the most to watch an Armstrong State volleyball match in the 30-year history of volleyball.
Armstrong State was led by junior Anna McGee, who hit .500 with 13 kills, as well as junior Emily Wylie, who notched 11 kills while hitting .360. Freshman Carley Eiken tallied 19 assists and freshman Selene Ushela notched eight digs.
Brewton-Parker was led by Charmaine Kyler's three kills - all in the first set - along with Veronica Salas' seven assists and Kendall Thomas' eight digs.
Armstrong State returns to action on Saturday, visiting defending Conference Carolinas champion Erskine for a 2:00 p.m. match against the Flying Fleet in Due West, S.C.
