Our recent editorial praising the Americans who thwarted and captured the terrorist on a French train also suggested that perhaps the TSA screenings at our airports are not such an inconvenience after all.
We heard from two viewers who took issue with our comments. Thomas Meyerink wrote that we were comparing apples to oranges, plane travel to train travel, and added that Amtrak doesn't screen for weapons either.
Dr. Chad Faries suggested an editorial about “the TSA costing billions while being no more effective than it was prior to 911?” He further cited a PBS report that noted TSA screeners had failed to identify a threat in 67 out of 70 test cases.
We appreciate these gentlemen taking the time to respond. What do you think?
