Georgia Port Authority renews Memorandum of Understanding between Savannah and Liberia's ports

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Georgia Port Authority signed an agreement to help the Republic of Liberia Thursday.

Port Executive Director Curtis Foltz joined the Liberia National Port Authority Executive Director of Governmental and International Affairs to renew the Memorandum of Understanding between Liberia and Savannah’s port. The Memorandum of Understanding extends cooperation in areas such as technology, training, marketing, and trade forecasts.

"We are desiring to help them in their processes to help modernize their processes to improve their port operations so the trade and commerce can move more efficiently between our ports. So this is a commitment to help others, but also with an end gain of broadening and expanding our commerce between the two companies,” said Foltz, GPA Executive Director.

The Port of Savannah is Liberia's largest trading partner in the southeastern United States.
