CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Savannah Fire and Emergency Services Battalion Chief Tod Heil will be remembered at the 2015 International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Service in Colorado Springs, CO on Saturday, Sept. 19. The service will honor 310 IAFF members who died in the line of duty, as well as 3,830 historical line-of-duty deaths from 1918 to 1975.

Heil passed away at the age 48 on Aug. 22nd, 2014, after a hard fought battle with cancer. He joined Savannah Fire in 1998. During his career, he served as President of the IAFF Local 574 Professional Firefighters Association and mentored countless recruits.

The names include those who died on the job, as well as those who died from toxic exposures, including deadly carcinogens at Ground Zero.

The service will be broadcast live via streaming video. It officially begins at 11:00 a.m. (Mountain Time). To watch the service, visit http://client.prod.iaff.org/#contentid=13636.
