Former Vermont Governor Howard Dean made a stop in the Lowcountry Thursday.
He made a visit in Okatie, speaking to local Democrats about the upcoming presidential election. It was the latest stop in Governor Dean’s campaign for Hillary Clinton.
He told the audience that he supports Clinton’s policies, and he believes the latest email scandal will actually help Clinton in the future.
"The person who gets through this process is going to be really tough, and they're going to be ready for the worst of humankind,” said Gov. Dean.
Dean was governor of Vermont from 1991 to 2003. He also served as the Chairperson of the Democratic National Committee from 2005 to 2009.
His campaigning in South Carolina comes before the state's Democratic Presidential Primary.
That will be on Saturday, Feb. 27.
