Veterans groups host patriotic dinner at Armstrong State University

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Concerned Veterans for America and Armstrong State University Student Veterans of America hosted a patriotic dinner Thursday night.

The dinner featured a keynote speaker, Lt. Jason C. Redman, a former U.S. Navy SEAL awarded the Bronze Star Medal with Valor and the Purple Heart. He said he has a clear message for all veterans.

"The biggest message I want to get across tonight is that our veterans need to stay involved. All of us has a purpose when we wore the uniform, we had a mission, and we were part of a unit. But what I want to convey to our veterans is just because you took the uniform off doesn't mean your service ended,” said Lt. Redman, military advisor for Concerned Veterans for America.

Rep. Jesse Petrea, local civic, military and veteran leaders, as well as notable and distinguished Armstrong alumni were also there.
