CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department’s Downtown Precinct investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating a teen who may have broken a window at The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist attempting to hide a gun Tuesday.

Officers are searching for Angelo Harley, 18, in reference to this case. Harley is described as a black male, standing 6 feet and weighing 150 pounds.

Harley may be riding a bike and is known to frequent Fred Wessels Homes and the Downtown area.

At about 12:30 p.m., officers attempted to stop two male subjects near Charlton and Habersham streets for a city ordinance violation.

Officers briefly pursued a subject on foot. He was never caught. The second subject was detained and eventually released.

Later, officers responded to the church on the 400 block of Abercorn Street, following reports of a man running toward the building, throwing a gun through one of its windows, then fleeing the area.

SCMPD recovered the gun.
