STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - Statesboro's next generation of leaders got a glimpse of what it takes to make a community grow.
Members of the Leadership Bulloch's Alumni and Youth Class heard from city and county developers who help attract new businesses, from industries to large retailers. They also head how tourism has emerged to be a $140-million business in Statesboro.
Speakers talked about the behind the scenes work that goes into building the community.
"So even when we might think that nothing's going on, they're working. Hopefully, every few years, we get to hear about a big announcement," said Erica Sellers, Alumni Board President.
The group also heard about projects in downtown Statesboro, including the GSU small business lab.
