SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System held its "Ready to Work" student job fair Thursday at the Savannah Mall.
The fair was designed to connect the work force with work-ready students. School officials said it's all about making strengthening the local job market as well as providing the first step in a student's successful future.
"We have employers ranging from Chick-fil-a to Gulfstream," said Dr. Angie Lewis, SCCPSS. "It's almost like a field trip but it's a field trip designed in order for them to gain employment or at least be exposed to employers."
The job fair was sponsored by the school system's Office of College and Career Readiness.
