SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Oktoberfest kicked off in downtown Savannah on Friday.
The weekend-long event includes a little taste of Germany for everybody.
Friday evening includes fireworks and tons of performances, even some bratwurst, and of course beer tasting.
Festivities pick back up Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
River Street is closed until 4 a.m. Saturday, and again from 8 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday.
Parking lots on River Street will also be closed, except for vendors. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are also increasing patrols from City Market to River Street.
