CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team are searching for a driver who may have been racing against a vehicle involved in a fatal accident on White Bluff Road and Posey Street on Sept. 12.

Rashan Floyd, 29, and Shannon Lovelace, 33, died in the accident.

Investigators are searching for the driver of a white, late-model Dodge Charger seen near the accident scene. The driver may have been racing against Floyd’s gray Ford Mustang just before 5:30 p.m.

The charger is believed to have continued south on White Bluff Road toward Abercorn Street.

Investigators believe Floyd was traveling southbound on White Bluff at a high-rate of speed when he lost control. The car crossed the median before colliding with Lovelace’s blue Chevrolet Cruze and a Buick sedan.
