TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) - If you see a few pirates running around Tybee Island this weekend, don't be alarmed.
The 11th Annual Tybee Island Pirate Fest kicked off Thursday night at the Crab Shack.
The four-day festival features live music, a parade, and tons of family-friends activities. Thursday's events included a performance by rock group "Big Engine".
Through the weekend, you can see fireworks, check out a petting zoo, and ride a Ferris wheel.
"They've gotten bigger and bigger and bigger. Everybody gets into the whole costume role-playing thing and we're all 'argh,' pirates and we have different variations of costumes and we tweak it every year and we just have a good time," said Judy Ouzts, attending festival.
Saturday's festivities will kick off at 10 a.m. and will run through 11 p.m.
There will also be a pirate's parade, and WTOC's own Jamie Ertle will be there with her pink wig, raising money for breast cancer awareness.
