CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - Tests are being done on air samples from Myers Middle School.
Savannah-Chatham County Public School System officials tell WTOC that Freon gas is not used in the A/C unit that caused the evacuation.
On Wednesday, 37 students and teachers were sent to the hospital after feeling sick during the day, and the entire building was eventually evacuated.
The school originally said Freon gas was to blame, but such a small amount was detected in the air. Officials say that wasn't enough to make people sick.
The air samples are expected to be sent back to the school system next week.
WTOC will update as soon as we learn any more details.
