SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A Savannah home was destroyed by fire Monday.
Fire officials tell WTOC the house on Leghorn Street is not livable anymore and is heavily damaged on the inside.
Southside Fire responded to the scene.
"A neighbor called it in. Upon our arrival we found a house, the windows had already broken due to heat, siding had already melted off of most of the house, the fire had pretty much snuffed itself out," said Capt. Chris Mills, Southside Fire Department.
Crews did have to put out some hot spots. Thankfully, no one was home at the time.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
