CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - A brand new aircraft made its way to Savannah's Air National Guard base Thursday.
The 165th Airlift Wing receiving a new C-130 H3, the first of eight replacements expected to take place in a year.
The upgrades are replacing the current 165th AW fleet to other models that are about 15 years newer.
"It adds a lot of longevity to the fleet, a minimum of nine years and maybe up to 14 years," said BG Jesse Simmons, U.S. Air Force.
These upgrades also go along with $17.5 million flight line upgrades and help the Wing accomplish their mission.
