Lawmakers Consider Later Start for School Year

When do your kids go back to school after summer vacation? It seems to get earlier and earlier every year, and plenty of parents aren't happy about it. So Georgia lawmakers are considering a change.

They're talking about a bill making Georgia schools start in the last week of August. That's three weeks later than most started last year.

Businesses that count on family tourism are backing the change as well, and parents say it would give them more family time together.
