BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) - This story started out about an intersection of Highway 80 and Burkhalter Road after the latest crash Thursday, but now that crash isn't the latest.
A driver Thursday went to the hospital after a crash with a truck that left him pinned in his car.
Friday, Susan Sneathen had a front row seat to yet another crash. This time fortunately, both drivers were able to walk away with just bumps and bruises.
"I was waiting on you and saw it happen! And it took only a split second," said Sneathen, from Brooklet.
She still remembers her daughter's crash here in 2013. That's when she asked local legislators and the Department of Transportation to do something.
Two years later, they've added flashing lights to the crossing. A right turn lane keeps traffic from stopping in the road.
By spring, they're supposed to have a full traffic light.
Sneathen says and others have been frustrated to see work here halted and restarted, and think it could have been finished sooner.
"You want it finished the next day when you've seen something happen because you want your community to be safe," said Sneathen.
She's ready for anything that makes accidents less of an everyday sight.
