SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The 200 Club of the Coastal Empire launching its Red, White and Blue Campaign with its first annual barbeque.
People filled Ellis Square Friday to enjoy a plate of pulled pork, spare ribs, coleslaw, baked beans and Texas toast. All for a small donation.
Proceeds from the campaign go to assisting our local first responders.
Local businesses donated the food, including Gerald's Pig and Shrimp, Savannah Lodging, G.C. BBQ and Ruby Tuesday.
"Anytime we have a fallen hero firefighter, police officer or EMS worker in the line of duty, we respond to the family with immediate financial relief. But more importantly, we maintain a relationship for their entire lives and provide a much needed college education for the surviving spouse and children," said 200 Club President Mark Dana.
Leopold's Ice Cream was there dishing out its delicious frozen treats.
