An ongoing domestic dispute turned violent overnight, leaving a woman wounded by gunfire and Garden City police searching for the gunman.

About 12:15am this morning, officers and an ambulance were called to a mobile home park on Village Drive off Dean Forest Road. When the units arrived, they found a woman shot in the upper chest lying in front of her home.

She was rushed to Memorial Health and then into surgery. Her sister tells police the man who shot her had been harassing her. He drove up and fired at the victim from his car. The sister used her car in an effort to box him in, but the suspect sped away.

Detectives say the unidentified victim is expected to recover.

This is a picture of Manuel Hernandez, the suspect wanted in the shooting. He was driving a white or cream-colored 2001 Pontiac Sunfire with tag number AIA8632.

Anyone who spots Hernandez or the car is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 234.2020.
