Savannah Branch NAACP hosted political forum

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - The Political Action Committee of the Savannah Branch NAACP hosted a political forum at the Pentecostal Miracle Deliverance Center on Bull Street.

This was a chance for residents to meet and get to know the candidates in the running in their district. All city council district candidates were invited to attend Thursday's debate.

"For the first time in many years in Savannah, all races are contested. We believe that this is good. It shows that the public has interest in the direction of the city. And we have persons that believe they can do a job to help the direction of the city. We think it's important then that all of these candidates have an opportunity to be heard," said Richard Shinhoster, 1st Vice President of the Savannah Branch NAACP.

On Election Day, the Savannah Branch NAACP is hosting a "Get Out to Vote" event to encourage everyone to hit the polls.
