HAAF holds emergency deployment readiness exercise

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - The 756th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company loaded a Panther EOD vehicle onto a U.S. Air Force C-17 Tuesday.

Officials say the exercise to showcase that Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield is the premier power projection platform on the East Coast, the 756th EOD is ready to deploy worldwide and that joint training like this demonstrates the installation and 3rd ID's readiness to deploy forces around the world.

"Here on Hunter Army Airfield, they bent over backwards to make sure we had all the materials, the training, the know how to make this event successful," said Major Edward Runyan, 63rd Ordnance Battalion, New York.

The 63rd Ordnance Battalion, based out of Fort Drum, New York participated in the exercise.
