SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A Georgia-born pizzeria with a downtown Savannah presence is wanting to serve their customers more than just a hot slice.
In addition to serving beer and wine, Mellow Mushroom requested Savannah City Council members allow the area the restaurant is in to be rezoned to allow for the sale of liquor.
Several restaurants and establishments along the stretch of Liberty Street do allow liquor sales, but Mellow Mushroom had not been included in that zone.
Ultimately, council granted the proposed request.
But even though the zoning for mellow mushroom has changed, the business will still have to come back before city council to petition for a liquor license.
