STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - ROTC cadets at Georgia Southern University will soon have a new place to learn.
GSU broke ground on a new military science building. The program boasts one of the largest cadet groups in the Southeast.
The new building will replace a temporary mobile building that's been there two decades. Faculty say the new home will give them more than just a larger space.
"It also allows us the virtual teleconferencing capability which allows us to bring senior leaders into our classrooms without having to pay to get them here to Georgia Southern," said LTC. Erik Kjonnerod, professor of Military Science.
They hope to have the 30,000 square foot building finished by late next fall.
