SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - New paperwork was filed Monday in the fire captain lawsuit against the City of Savannah, but it didn't come from either party.
It came from the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.
They're getting involved because they say if the fire captain wins, it could set precedent and affect them.
The group is asking the State Supreme Court to review the order of the Court of Appeals.
The city already made that request, which the high court denied a week ago.
Fifty fire captains are suing Savannah, saying they aren't getting paid according to the pay policy and the city owes them money.
The city says the policy is merely a guideline and they don't have to adhere to it.
The case was initially dismissed, but the appeals court reversed that decision.
It is now heading to trial.
