SCMPD Assistant Chief Tolbert's attorneys asking judge for suit dismissal

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Attorneys for Savannah-Chatham Metro Assistant Police Chief Julie Tolbert are now asking a judge to dismiss the police corruption suit filed against her.

The suit, filed by four former officers, claims Tolbert, former Police Chief Lovett and others seized control of the department for their own gain, the corruption forcing the officers out of their jobs.

Tolbert’s attorney says she’s had a clean law enforcement career and should be dismissed from the case.

The plaintiffs are seeking a jury trial and damages.
