TOOMBS CO., GA (WTOC) - A road project in Toombs County has own homeowner at odds with the county, and a neighbor.
Chris Jones tells WTOC the county wants to buy part of his side yard to widen and pave Ezra Taylor Road. However, he believes the county should get equal portions of each neighbor's property and the first part of the widening will come from his yard.
"They said in the meeting they were going to get equal sides and that's what I expected them to do was get just as much off the other side as they get my side," said Jones.
WTOC spoke with the county manager who said they need to buy more from Jones in order to make the 90-degree intersection. Jones' neighbor may have added to the tensions with large signs across the road, calling Jones a baby.
